12/23/2023 - WineSlackerInPA Likes this wine: 90 pointsVery mineral with some very nice floral notes. Pineapple and apple on the nose, which also develops in the taste profile. Slight waxy feel, but very slight - which would be indicative of the butyric acid esters noted in previous posts. I detected no butyric acid at all in this bottle. On the acidic end of the spectrum, but the acid helped balance the pineapple, which by itself might overwhelm. Overall a very nice, drinkable chardonnay. We will be in Argentina over (our) winter 2024, I'm now looking forward to sampling more of their whites while we're there. |

Well balanced, dense and powerful but buoyant fruit. Soft, powdery tannins and a fresh mineral driven finish that is a hair short. Drink or hold. Delicious stuff here. 100% Malbec from Vista Flores aged 10 months in barrel. |

6/13/2023 - Glenn Gilbert Likes this wine: 91 pointsMy first tasting of this wine and vintage for CellarTracker was March 31, 2018; this is the second tasting; the cork is doubtless genuine, with a faint aroma of fruity sourness and a maximum wine penetration of 4 mm; the wine has long legs and is a very dark red/brown color; opened, vinturied and tasted immediately afterwards at room temperature, 24 degrees C; the nose is fruit forward, embellished with considerable alcohol; the structure of the wine has held up well after nine years of cellaring; if someone handed me a glass of this at a party, I'd be scratching my head at its unusual character -- considerable complexity bound up with mellow tannins; bitterness has edged aside the sourness noted in the earlier tasting, but the wine would still pair very well with umami foods, with cheese, or as a standalone; I'm sticking with my earlier 91 point assessment |

A blend of 86% CS, 10% Merlot and 4% Malbec. Medium intensity rich aroma of blackcurrants, blackberries, violets, chocolate hint, meaty and leathery touches. Full body, pronounced new oak (aged in new oak - 90% FR, 10% US), powerful and plush with finely grained tannins, medium light acidity and long toasted finish. Much more integrated at second day. |
